CEED 2013 Entrance examination will be conducted on Sunday, 25 November, 2012 from 0900 hrs to 1200 hrs. This is approximately one week earlier than previous years. Note that the Exam will be held in the Forenoon session. |

The examination will be conducted in two Parts, A and B. All candidates must answer both Parts. A. Part A contains only multiple choice type questions, and B. Part B contains design and hand drawing type questions |

Part-A is a screening test, which will be conducted by an online computerized program. PART-B will be evaluated for candidates who will be short-listed in the screening test. Part B score only will be used for merit list and qualified list for CEED 2013 |

Candidates must report to the center one hour before the start of the exam. This is required to record biometric information (Photograph and fingerprint) before appearing for the examination |
Common Entrance Examination for Design (CEED/IIT) is an all India examination conducted by the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay (IIT Bombay), on behalf of the Ministry of Human Resources Development, Department of Education About CEED, Government of India.
CEED is a qualifying examination for admission to Post Graduate programs (M.Des.) at the Industrial Design Centre ( IIT Bombay ) , Instrument Design and Development Centre (IIT Delhi), Centre for Product Design and Manufacturing ( IISc Bangalore) and Design Program ( IIT Kanpur ) . CEED qualifications in itself does not guarantee admission to the above mentioned programs. Candidates also have to fulfill other requirements such as tests & interviews of the respective institutions for admission. CEED examination tests the candidates for visual perception ability, drawing skills, design aptitude and communication skills.
Candidates must either have completed or be expecting to complete any of the following, by July 2007:
There is no age limit and a candidate can appear in CEED any number of times.
CEED examination will the test your drawing skills, aesthetics, sensibility, creativity, problem identification ability, your approach to visual & mechanical design, visual perception ability, design aptitude and communication skills. It will test your ability to, creatively & appropriately solve simple design problems, problem analysis, alternate concepts, justifications for your solutions, visual & textual presentation skills, visualization, general awareness and comprehension.
CEED examination will consist of two parts. First part tests your drawing skills, aesthetics, sensibility , creativity, problem identification and your approach to visual and mechanical design. Eligibility
Basic degree in engineering / architecture. Selection for admission is based on performance in a design aptitude test (DAT) and interview conducted in April/May. Shortlisting for DAT is done on the basis of applicant’s CEED or GATE score. In case the score is not yet available at the time of applying, the candidates can apply indicating their CEED / GATE registration numbers.
The DAT / interview will test the engineering knowledge; spatial, creative, and analytical thinking ability; aesthetic sensitivity and communicating ability; and the overall aptitude for the design and the suitability of the candidate for the programme. Candidates will be given an opportunity to present their previous design related work, if any, during the interview
